Candon City By-Pass Road

Candon City By-Pass Road
Project Overview

The 7.3-kilometer Candon City Bypass Road, also referred to as the “Heroes bypass road,” includes a 4-lane Oaig Daya Bridge, installation of road signs, construction of four waiting sheds, and application of pavement markings. This new route provides an alternative for motorists heading to the northern part of the Ilocos Region, starting from Barangay Ayudante and ending at Barangay Tablac, passing through eight barangays in Candon City: Ayudante, Parioc 1st, Calaoan, Oaig Daya, Bagani Gabor, Bagani Campo, Bagani Ubbog, and Tablac.

Project Impact

The project runs along the eastern side of the city to alleviate congestion on the Manila North Road and enhance connectivity between Manila, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, and Abra. Additionally, it aims to cut travel time between the towns of Sta. Lucia and Santiago, Ilocos Sur, from 40 minutes to 20 minutes.
