Apayao-Ilocos Norte Road

Project Overview

The 65.58-kilometer road network, including 12 bridges, completes the Cordillera Roads Improvement Project (CRIP), serving as the region's primary infrastructure connecting provincial and major growth centers. It will also function as a lateral access road linking Regions I and II with the Cordillera region.

Project Impact

The project will offer a quicker alternative route for motorists traveling from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) to Laoag International Airport and the Manila North Road in the Ilocos Region. The project is anticipated to cut travel time from Kabugao, the capital town of Apayao, to Laoag City, Ilocos Norte via Calanasan, Apayao, from 6.5 hours to 3.5 hours.
