CDO Flood Risk Management Project
Project Overview

The Flood Risk Management Project in Cagayan De Oro (CDO) River includes building an 11,928-meter earthen dike and a 3,259-meter flood wall, incorporating 1,449 meters of reinforced concrete slope protection. It also involves constructing 2,756 meters of new roads and raising existing roads for evacuation purposes, installing three steel slide gates and 19 flap gates, enhancing the Kagayan River, and constructing a retarding basin, concrete box and pipe culverts, headwalls, and drainage outlets.


Project Impact

The project utilizes a new technology and design strategy focused on managing floods that occur once every 25 years, ensuring resilience. This initiative currently safeguards 290 hectares of land and approximately 18,000 buildings in CDO.
