Project Overview
The Cebu-Mactan Bridge (4th) and Coastal Construction Project in partnership with the Japanese government involves the construction of a 3.3-kilometer bridge with an elevated viaduct of 2.93 kilometers and a 4.9-kilometer coastal road expressway with a 4.57- kilometer coastal road with an elevated viaduct.
Project Impact
The project aims to respond to the increasing traffic demand in Metro Cebu, the fourth long span bridge will connect Cebu and Mactan Island which will complement the three bridges that span across the Mactan Channel — the Marcelo Fernan Bridge, the Sergio Osmena Bridge, and the about to be completed Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway.
Once completed, the travel time from Mactan Cebu International Airport to Cebu Port area will be reduced from 45 minutes to only 25 minutes.
