Panglao Offshore Connector Bridge
Project Overview
The 2.71-kilometer interisland bridge is part of the Mega Bridge Master Plan, which aims to connect Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao via land travel. The project will connect Bohol to the island municipalities of Dauis and Panglao through the construction of a 1.2 kilometer, four-lane bridge, two short span bridges, and a 1.3-kilometer access road.
Project Impact
The project is envisioned to enhance inter-modal transport in Metro Tagbilaran by directly connecting the New Bohol Airport with the Tagbilaran Seaport. This will streamline the movement of goods, services, and people, particularly local and international tourists, and alleviate traffic in the central business district by offering a new bypass and redirecting vehicular flow to and from Panglao Island and Tagbilaran City.
