Pulilan-Baliuag Diversion Road
Project Overview
The 9.6-kilometer four-lane road starts from Barangay Tibag, located approximately 200 meters from the NLEx-Pulilan exit, and extends to Maharlika Highway in Barangay Tarcan, Baliuag. Cutting through rice fields in Pulilan town, this bypass road includes a bike lane, a pioneering feature in Bulacan.
The Pulilan-Baliuag Diversion Road has been selected as the Philippines' official entry in the Mino Best Project Award-Community Road Category by the Road Engineering Association of Asia and Australasia (REAAA). This nomination recognizes the project for its social impact, environmental sustainability, and technical excellence.
Project Impact
The project will enhance the efficiency of travel in Bulacan, particularly benefiting motorists, passenger buses, and cargo trucks heading to the eastern towns and Nueva Ecija. It has reduced travel time between Baliuag and Pulilan from one hour to only 30 minutes, complementing the effectiveness of the Balagtas Bypass Road.
